I started my Real Estate career in 2007, working for a large independent agency just outside London in the affluent Weybridge, Surrey. Over the next couple of years I worked my way up from Junior Negotiator to helping run a new branch in Walton on Thames. In 2010 I was approached to help run an office for a large, or so I thought, Real Estate Company in Dubai. Sold the dream and a little too unsuspecting, I jumped on a plane to kick start the next chapter of my life. Needless to say the start of my Real Estate career in Dubai didn't start with a bang and disillusioned with the whole industry I went to work for a small independent investment bank in the DIFC. After a year of sitting around an office, I began to realize that my passion and interests lie more with Real Estate. After speaking to a friend who had just started working for a relatively unknown company run in a British manner I made my mind up to follow his foot steps and get on board. Fast forward three years with mainly ups and certainly some draining downs, I worked my way up to a Sales Manager position running the Sales and Leasing departments. Having helped position them as a leading Real Estate Company and overseeing a huge growth in a short space of time I felt I had achieved all I could in the role and at the turn of 2014 I took the decision to start my own company along with the other partners.

The Dubai real estate market has certainly changed since I touched down in 2010, in fact Dubai as a whole feels a little different. When I first arrived everyone had their 1, 3 or 5 year plan to clear their debts, save for deposits and get back home. Those people are still here and really made Dubai their new home. We really felt there was a void in the market for an Agency truly rooted in the community but still with the financial power to compete and even overtake the current agents, with better advertising and marketing tools, better communication and all round better services, because we take the time to truly understand your needs. We all agreed on the company ethos, a local agent that would connect with the locals and provide a genuine service and give you an experience you would want to repeat. We also wanted to connect with other individuals or companies with the same beliefs and create a hub to help make your life a little easier in your community and Dubai in general. So instead of another Facebook, twitter and Instagram profile to shove properties down your throat, we started LivingAscot where we and our "Local Heroes" could give you information and ideas on where to go, what to do and even how you could help us give a little back.
